Seeing Detroit Through The Global Lens

For over four years, Hostel Detroit, a registered 501(C)3 nonprofit, has been helping travelers from around the world experience the Motor City from a local perspective. Whether seeing the city through one of our Ambassador tours, cruising around on one of the hostel bikes, or just sitting down with us at for a good conversation, travelers are always asking questions and expressing such amazement at the uniqueness of Detroit.

Enter this blog. People travel to Hostel Detroit from all over the globe, bringing with them different perspectives on life, travel, or where they grew up and live currently. All of those things, and the countless other interactions of life in between, help construct their unique perspective of Detroit. This is what we are striving to capture with this online publication. We hope to  share the Detroit experience with those interested in it and to extend to Detroiter’s their own city viewed through the global lens.
