TERMS OF SERVICE (TOS)
These Terms of Service (“TOS”) govern your use of the services provided by Hostel Detroit (referred to as “hostel”, “we”, “us,” or “our”), a hostel located at 2700 Vermont, Detroit, Michigan 48216. By accessing or using our hostel facilities, website, or any related services, you agree to be bound by these TOS. Please read them carefully before proceeding.
Acceptance of Terms
By using our hostel facilities, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to comply with these TOS. If you do not agree with these terms, you may not use our services.
Reservations and Payment
All reservations must be made in advance, and full payment is required prior to arrival. Failure to make payment may result in the cancellation of the reservation.
For security purposes, the name on the credit card used for the booking must match the name on the guest’s ID provided upon check-in.
All bookings must be made by the person who will be staying at the property. Bookings made on behalf of others are not permitted unless written authorization is provided by management.
Third-Party Travel Agency Bookings
Full payment for the stay will be charged to the card provided at the time of booking.
Third-party bookings made through external booking services may not always provide the required guest information.
Guests who have made bookings through third-party services are responsible for submitting any additional requested information, including their name, home address, phone number, email address, and approximate arrival time, via email to the hostel. The hostel requires this complete information to process the reservation and send the access codes to the guests.
Reservation Cancellation
The hostel reserves the right to cancel a reservation if deemed necessary or if the guest fails to comply with the hostel’s policies.
Guest Eligibility and Registration
All guests are required to present a valid ID upon check-in, and failure to do so may result in the denial of accommodation.
All guests must be 18 years of age or older to stay at Hostel Detroit except when they are accompanied by a legal guardian. Guests under 18 years of age are welcome to stay in private rooms only if accompanied by a legal guardian. For dorm rooms, the entire dorm room must be rented, and the legal guardian must stay in the room with them.
Minors under 18 years of age must not be left unattended at the property and should be supervised by their legal guardian.
No outside guests are allowed on the property without prior written approval from the hostel management.
All dorm rooms at Hostel Detroit are gender mixed, and guests of all genders may be assigned to the same dorm room unless a private room is booked.
The hostel may collect guest identification electronically through the Goki app for verification and registration purposes.
Guests who do not submit their IDs through the Goki app will be asked to provide it upon arrival at the hostel.
The hostel reserves the right to make a copy of the ID for record-keeping purposes.
All guests are required to present a valid ID upon prior to or at check-in, and failure to do so may result in the denial of accommodation.
The maximum allowed time to stay for guests is 14 days per calendar year, with exceptions made at the discretion of the hostel and not commonly granted.
Guest Behavior
Guests are expected to conduct themselves in a respectful and considerate manner towards hostel staff, other guests, and the property itself.
Any behavior that disrupts the peaceful environment of the hostel, including but not limited to excessive noise, harassment, violence, or any form of discriminatory or offensive language or behavior, will not be tolerated.
Guests are responsible for their own actions and the consequences that may arise from their behavior.
Hostel Detroit reserves the right to refuse service or remove guests from the premises if their behavior violates this policy or poses a threat to the safety or well-being of others.
Guests will be held financially responsible for any damage caused to the property or its facilities due to their actions, including but not limited to destruction of property, excessive cleaning required, or any other behavior that results in additional costs for the hostel.
Check-Out and Check-In Times
Check-in time is between 3:00 PM and 11:00 PM. Guests are kindly requested to plan their arrival within this timeframe.
Late check-ins may be accommodated, but prior approval is required. Please contact the hostel via phone or email before making a reservation if you anticipate arriving past 11:00 PM.
Check-out time is at 11:00 AM. Guests are kindly requested to vacate their rooms by this time to allow for cleaning and preparation for incoming guests.
Noise Control
Quiet hours are in effect from 11:00 PM to 8:00 AM. During this time, guests are expected to keep noise levels to a minimum to ensure a peaceful environment for all.
Amplified music or loud noise is not permitted in the dorm rooms at any time. Guests are kindly requested to use headphones or enjoy their music at a reasonable volume that does not disturb other guests. 12.3. Common areas may have designated spaces where guests can enjoy music or engage in activities that may generate noise. However, guests are still expected to be considerate of others and keep noise levels within reasonable limits.
Damage Fees and Excessive Cleaning
Guests are responsible for any intentional or negligent damage caused to the hostel’s property and may be charged accordingly.
Additional fees may apply for excessive cleaning required beyond normal wear and tear, including instances of vomiting or biohazardous situations.
Smoking Policy
Smoking is strictly prohibited indoors, including all common areas, rooms, and hallways of the hostel.
Guests who wish to smoke may do so only in designated outdoor areas that comply with local smoking regulations and are approved by the hostel management.
Guests must dispose of cigarette butts and smoking-related waste properly in designated receptacles.
Failure to comply with the smoking policy may result in additional cleaning fees and/or eviction from the premises.
Alcohol Policy
Guests must be 21 years of age or older to store, possess, and consume alcohol on the property.
Excessive intoxication or disruptive behavior related to alcohol consumption may result in eviction from the premises.
Illegal Drugs
The use, possession, or distribution of illegal drugs is strictly prohibited on the hostel premises.
Any guest found to be in violation of this policy may be subject to immediate eviction and legal action, as required by law.
Neighborhood and Neighbor Respect
Guests are guests to the neighborhood and must respect the local community and neighbors. Excessive noise, disturbances, or disrespectful behavior towards neighbors may result in eviction from the premises.
Safety and Liability
Hostel Detroit strives to maintain a safe and secure environment for all guests. However, the hostel is not responsible for any accidents, injuries, or illnesses that occur during a guest’s stay.
Guests are responsible for their own safety and should take necessary precautions to protect themselves and their belongings.
The hostel is not liable for any theft, loss, or damage to personal belongings or vehicles while on the property.
Privacy and Data Protection
Privacy Policy: Our privacy policy outlines how we collect, use, and protect your personal information. By using our services, you agree to the terms of our privacy policy.
Third-Party Services: We may use third-party services or technologies to enhance our services. These third parties may have their own terms and privacy policies, and you agree to comply with them.
Modifications to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these TOS at any time. Any changes will be effective immediately upon posting the revised TOS on our website. Your continued use of our services after the changes constitute your acceptance of the modified terms.
Termination
We may, at our sole discretion, terminate or suspend your access to our services without prior notice for any reason, including but not limited to violation of these TOS.
Governing Law
These TOS shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Michigan, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws principles.
